They are getting their assets kicked pretty hard by Zalkin and Friends.
i keep hearing that the watchtower org is going to be around forever because of the many other religions that have been around a long time.
but i disagree because the wt is not like other religious cults.. the watchtower's breath of life is dependent on the last days that started in 1914. .
you can’t change 1914 without a death blow to the entire organization.. the watchtower's 2nd reason for staying alive, is it's continual urging that the life saving preaching work of warning people is the most important work ever.. but- it's very obvious to many, even the old ones that instead of speeding up the work------the work is slowing down to a drip.. comment by former believer; .

even if you disapprove of much about the wt and/or its religion, what aspects do you view most favorably about the wt and/or its religion?
for me one of the things i view most favorably about the wt and its religion is its extremely strong insistence that jws never intentionally kill another human being.
i especially appreciate that regarding those who have been born, but i think some abortions of human embryos might be justifiable.
Similar situation:
maybe someone can help me here:when i got baptized at age 23, an elder dropped a bombshell on me.
he said that the new testament wasn't written for the great crowd (me).
he said that it only applies to the anointed, and "by extension" the nt applies to the great crowd.
I didn't learn until after being a born-in Witness who faithfully practiced the religion until I was in my mid-30s that my own religion taught that Jesus did not die for our sins.
That is THE ONE THING that makes them so criminal! They bloviate out the wazoo, make you answer 80 questions about nothing, which gives you the impression you have a handle on what you are agreeing to. And then, later after baptism when you figure out what you were tricked into, they disfellowship you for apostasy!
We are all very lucky here. Many have ended up in drug/alcohol tragedies or suicides without ever realizing the cruel game that was played on them.

Thanks Carla. Found it!
Watchtower 1974 June 15 p.376
"Also, it is to the spirit-anointed Christians who will rule in that kingdom that most of the Christian Greek Scriptures is directed, including the promises of everlasting life."
So, there you have it. It's just too bad that we weren't all born a hundred years ago or so. According to the WT liars, God ran out of everlasting life after 144,000 people.

Has anyone else ever heard this? Does anyone know whether or not the WT has come out and said this in writing?
Many thanks in advance,

when i see watchtower videos or interviews i can’t help but notice how bland and boring jws really are!
they are so vanilla.
no excitement, just robotic conversation.. what the hell happened to these people?
Growing up, I would ask my parents questions on how the world worked and all they would do was mechanically quote the Watchtower literature. I think JWs just don't know how to relate to other people in general. Most JW's just want someone to tell them what to think, say and do.
Most don't know how to relax and just be a friend to someone.

I agree they are in a serious decline. The waters supplying Babylon are drying up just as the Watchtower foretold. I think this could be the one prophecy they finally get right!

DJW,
With all due respect, the WT view is repugnant to anyone who likes law, order, & peaceable living. The shear scope of dissonance that is required to believe it is breath-taking.
For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. - Romans 13: 4
Using the logic of the WT, God would have to appoint people to specifically violate his laws in order to fulfill the governmental ministry He called them to!
i don't remember who wanted this letter.
it is old news by now.. request for letter concerning rv's or travel trailers.. see page 2.. .

What a fine way to support "theocratic construction" and "disaster relief". Only problem is that "theocratic construction" isn't in the bible!
I know Paul was a tent maker to support his ministry. But they were for sale, not donation. What does the Grovelling Body make other than a lot of noise and a stiff scotch on the rocks?

Furthermore if you believe the Bible is true, then you believe that people faithful to Jesus and God will receive a resurrection to eternal life.
DJW,
This is not what Christians believe. For the Christian, the object of faith is Jesus and the road to him is belief. Christians cannot always be faithful. But, they can always believe. IT IS YOUR BELIEF, that triggers the blood covering, not your actions. True, actions will generally follow belief, but it has varying consistency. But, belief in the sufficiency of the blood of Christ to cover - now that is something that I can ALWAYS do.
"Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved"
Regarding Cornelius, we don't know if he remained in active duty in the army
But what we do know was that it WASN'T necessary to quit in order to become a Christian.
Keep also in the mind the words attributed to Jesus about he who fights by the sword shall die by the sword.
Your changed scripture here. The word is lives by the sword not fights by the sword. Some of the greatest Christians I know are active and retired military. One naval officer was my Sunday School teacher for years. He is a tremendous man of God. He invited me to his retirement ceremony on base. Was fascinating. He lives by the word of God, even though he protects with a sword. BOTH are consistent.
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
